Job Description:

Category Management:

  • This individual will be experienced in supplier selection & development, supply chain management and sourcing, in a global environment. The selected candidate will work closely with the Sr. Commodity manager, managing a portfolio of commodities, while continuing to develop their skill set, and working towards a more senior level position.
  • The ideal candidate will participate in global strategy discussions, support the development of preferred supplier lists, support the business units with supply chain challenges, manage the information flow between engineering, new product development and global commodity management. You will work closely with and support the cross functional areas within the organization. Lead specified business units through sourcing processes and ensures sourcing decisions are consistent with overall company strategy, policy and needs.
  • Under the guidance of other commodity managers, you will learn to manage the supply base, develop end to end supply chain solutions, and drive cost out with our key partners.
  • The ideal candidate will analyze spend data, and present the commodity manager with business cases to address, rationalize and improve the current supply chain.
  • Work closely with product management teams to understand technology requirements across the commodity and various business units, and share with the Commodity team
  • In time, the ideal candidate will become a subject matter expert, and your growth will allow you to take greater ownership of commodity management
  • Interface directly with Finance and the Sourcing Analyst to document real savings that can be communicated throughout the organization
  • Develop and maintain supplier performance metrics and manage the feedback process
  • Support the execution teams during supply constraints, shortages, EOL’s and all supply issues
  • Coordinate with corporate functions to drive excellent sourcing processes in all areas of spend
  • Work with the Continuous Improvement organization to drive initiatives at key suppliers which will result in quantifiable savings
  • Evaluation of performance metrics for priority/critical commodity responsibilities
  • Provide external marketplace knowledge of the latest dynamics, trends, and best practices
  • Utilization of consistent methodologies to pursue deliverables that are aligned with strategic objectives and policies
  • Experience driving direct material sourcing savings globally
  • Leading and facilitating meetings, conferences, and collaboration events

Program Management:

  • PMP certification preferred
  • Responsible for overall program objectives and schedule, monitor individual projects, maintain overall program tracker
  • Work with Cross Functional Teams – Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement, Product Management
  • Status reporting to Customer top management (Sr. VP level) – excellent presentation skills
  • Strong communication – oral and written
  • Experience working for Large product organization
  • Defining the program governance
  • Planning the overall program and monitoring the progress
  • Managing risks and issues and taking corrective measurements
  • Work with onsite – offshore team structure (75 member team)
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC Industry

Education:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree (Supply Chain)
