Job Description: The Cherwell Developer/Admin will primarily focus on designing and delivering ITSM solutions that are developed on the Cherwell SaaS or on premise platform. He/She adapts existing methods and procedures to create possible solutions to moderately complex problems. He/She understands the strategic direction set and uses considerable judgment to determine solution and seeks guidance on complex problems. He/She determines methods and procedures on new assignments and collaborates with other team members. The primary interaction is with CoE Lead/Principal Architect and may interact with peers and/or other management levels.


  • Provide software configuration and customization including, but not limited to: screen tailoring, workflow administration, report setup, data imports, integration, custom scripting and third party software integrations
  • Obtain and analyze business requirements and document technical solutions
  • Develop, design and rollout new application modules, workflows and catalog requests
  •  Research new functionality and recommend solutions that deliver customer value

 Candidates should demonstrate experience in the following areas:

  • Design and delivery of technical solutions based on the Cherwell platform
  • Leadership skills in technical initiatives
  • Generating detailed documentation
  • Communications that clearly articulate solutions and the ability to perform demonstrations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field and 3/5+ years of experience supporting the implementation, administration, configuration, and/or development of the Cherwell tool
  • Cherwell Experience should include scripting in Cherwell, tool configuration, design work, technical configuration and deployment of ITSM modules. Specifically, candidates shall possess the skill to develop on the Cherwell platform including the creation and/or customization of the core applications such as Incident, Problem, Change and Service Catalog
  • System/Process Automation (Orchestration) experience
  • Experience with working or developing in any one of the following programming languages: JavaScript, PHP, C, Java, Perl, HTML or HTML 5
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

 Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of Configuration Management aligned to ITIL
  • Web Services Integration (SOAP,REST, and JSON
  • Experience implementing systems using the Agile/Scrum methodology
  • Experienced in the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes including customer requirement analysis and system design
  • Administration of a Cherwell instance including the delegation of groups, modification of CMS, workflows, business rules, UI actions, UI policies, ACLs, dictionary, catalog items and updates of all other existing solutions requiring revisions
  • ITIL certifications is a plus
  • Cherwell CSM Certifications is a plus
