Job Description:

  • Support the Prototype Shop with the operation, setup, and maintenance of machine shop equipment.
  • Have good communication skills and be self-motivated to hit deadlines
  • Collaborate with engineers, machinists and management to achieve project objectives.
  • Follow a standardized workflow that maximizes part quality, machine up-time and production throughput.
  • Meet both quality and scheduling expectations.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment by strictly adhering to the departmental procedures.
  • Operate in a fast paced, ever changing work environment.
  • Have 3+ years of machine shop experience working with milling machines, Lathes, and sheet metal tools
  • Perform high and low responsibility tasks, including general machine maintenance, occasional assembly work, and organization
  • Creative problem solver
  • Proven adaptability and flexibility as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Mechanically adept and able to lift 35 lbs.

Mandatory Skills:

  • Additive manufacturing processes
  • General knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment commonly found working in a machine shop setting
  • Experience with NX or other solid modeling packages
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and how to read and apply it when fabricating custom parts.
  • Computer literate and able to operate both NC and manual equipment.
