Job Description:

  • Ability to understand system-level behavior
  • Ability to understand Electronic/Mechanical hardware circuits and schematics (Doesn;t need to be an expert designer, but needs to have a solid basic understanding. Very beneficial if there is experience in electronics with analog, digital, and custom logic devices such as PLD, FPGA.)
  • Ability to understand basic software operation and flow diagrams (Doesn;t need to be an expert, but should have a basic understanding and the ability to work with designers)
  • Ability to perform LRU level and component level reliability prediction
  • Ability to perform maintainability prediction (MTTR)
  • Ability to perform safety analysis tasks including:
  • Safety Assessment Reports
  • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
  • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Common Cause Analysis (CCA)
  • Experience in writing and reviewing requirements
  • Experience with relevant standards for Civil/Commercial Programs:
  • Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) Aerospace
  • Recommended Practice (ARP) 4761: Guidelines and Methods
  • for Conducting the Safety Assessment Process on Civil Airborne System
  • SAE ARP 4754: Certification Considerations for Highly- Integrated or Complex Aircraft Systems
  • RTCA DO-178B:
  • RTCA DO-254:
  • Experience with relevant standards for Military Programs
  • MIL-STD-882, MIL-HDBK-338, MIL-HDBK-454A Guideline 1 Work in collaboration with all functional areas to perform
  • systems and equipment safety assessment that meet specifications.
  • Conduct fault Tree analysis, failure modes and effects analysis
  • (FMEA) and Common Cause Analysis (CCA).
  • Perform analysis to verify systems and equipment compliance to requirements.
  • Prepare and review technical reports/documentation necessary to satisfy customer, internal and program requirements, including specifications, design documents, test plans/procedures, reports, correspondence, etc.
  • Establish and maintain proactive communication channels with customers, and internal organizations as required to meet project goals.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor;s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical discipline. (Master’s Degree Preferred).
  • Minimum Five (5) + years of relevant experience in systems
  • safety assessment for airborne equipment and equipment certification.
  • Possess strong background in safety and reliability engineering

Must Have Experience In:

  • Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
  • Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Common Cause Analysis (CCA) or Common Mode Analysis (CMA)
  • Experience with MIL-HDBK-217F, HDBK-217Plus, NPRD-2011,
  • SAE ARP 4754, MIL-HDBK-454A, MIL-std-1472F, MIL-STD-1629A and DO-254.
  • Eligibility requirements include U.S. nationals or permanent residents (Green Card).
